For convenience stores and newsagents

The same customers, several times a week, all standing at your till.

A corner shop is where the street buys its milk, its paper and its lunch, from first thing until late. Put the meal deal, the offers and the services on the screen behind the counter — and let the local businesses your customers use pay to be on it too.

Free to join, free to run your shop screens. You only pay if you want to advertise on someone else’s.

On a shop screen

What you would actually put on it.

Visits are short, but a convenience store sees the same local people several times a week.

Meal deals and offers

This week's promotions, photographed, in front of the queue while people are still deciding.

The services you offer

Parcel collection, bill payments, cashback, top-ups — the reasons to come in that people forget you have.

Opening hours

Early mornings, late nights and holiday hours, on a notice card that is always up to date.

Weather and the headlines

Free live cards for your postcode. Something to glance at while the card machine thinks.

And it earns

A local shop's customers live within a few streets of it, which is exactly the audience a local business wants.

Takeaways, tradespeople, gyms and letting agents will pay to be seen at your till, and you approve every advert.

Who wants your room: Takeaways and cafés, plumbers, electricians and cleaners, local gyms, letting agents, and community events.

  • 70% is yours

You set the price per play and 70% of it reaches you. There is nothing else to pay — no subscription, no listing fee, no hardware.

  • Only real plays count

A play pays out only if the screen was on, visible and verified. Nobody is billed for a dark screen.

  • 10p in, 10p out

A credit is worth the same whether you buy it or cash it out. Withdraw from 500 credits.

Do the sum

What would a shop screen earn?

Opens on the hours and the price a shop actually trades at, and on a quiet week rather than a good one.

Your screen

14h

Trading hours, not opening hours. A screen nobody is looking at earns nothing, and the player knows the difference.

1

This is the honest unknown, and it is about demand rather than your loop — which could carry about 91 an hour at 30%. It starts on quiet on purpose.

3credits · £0.30 a play

You set this, and you can change it whenever you like.

The rest of the loop stays yours. This sets the ceiling, not the demand.

You would earn, roughly

£89.40 a month

The same screen, three ways

An estimate, not an offer. You are paid only for plays the screen proves — an advert of about 10s with a signed token and a heartbeat showing the screen was awake and in view. The same advertiser cannot play twice within 40 seconds or more than 40 times an hour on your screen, so busy hours need several advertisers, not one repeated. Several TVs showing one loop count as one play — you price the set.

On the wall

How it looks in convenience stores and newsagents.

The screen in each of these is the real DisplayCircle player, laid over the television in the photograph.

Questions

What convenience stores and newsagents ask.

What can I advertise on it myself?

Anything you could put on a poster in the same place. Tobacco cannot be advertised at all, and age-restricted products follow the same rules on the screen as they would on paper.

There is no room on the wall.

A tablet on a stand by the till, or a small screen on the counter, is enough — the player lays itself out for portrait or landscape.

I run more than one shop.

Each shop's screen has its own loop and price, all from one account, and a new screen can copy everything from an existing one.
