Forty minutes of spin cycle, and every eye on your wall.
A wash and dry keeps people in a launderette with nothing to do but watch the machines. Give them your prices, the service wash and the duvet offer instead — and let the takeaway and the barber next door pay to be seen while the drum turns.
Free to join, free to run your launderette screens. You only pay if you want to advertise on someone else’s.
On a launderette screen
What you would actually put on it.
A wash and dry keeps people seated for half an hour or more, with very little else to look at.
Prices and machine sizes
What each machine costs, which one takes a duvet, how long a dry takes. The questions people otherwise ask the attendant.
Service washes and dry cleaning
Drop-off, collection times and the dry-cleaning prices, for the customers who would rather not wait next time.
Local notices
Opening hours, the machine that is out of order, the holiday closing — typed from your phone.
Weather and the headlines
Free live cards set to your postcode. Something to read while the cycle finishes.
And it earns
Hardly any room holds people as long, with as little else to look at, as a launderette.
The takeaways, barbers, gyms and letting agents on your street will pay to fill that half hour, and you approve each one.
Who wants your room: Takeaways and cafés nearby, barbers, local gyms, letting agents, cleaners and handymen, and colleges advertising evening courses.
70% is yours
You set the price per play and 70% of it reaches you. There is nothing else to pay — no subscription, no listing fee, no hardware.
Only real plays count
A play pays out only if the screen was on, visible and verified. Nobody is billed for a dark screen.
10p in, 10p out
A credit is worth the same whether you buy it or cash it out. Withdraw from 500 credits.
Do the sum
What would a launderette screen earn?
Opens on the hours and the price a launderette actually trades at, and on a quiet week rather than a good one.
Your screen
Trading hours, not opening hours. A screen nobody is looking at earns nothing, and the player knows the difference.
This is the honest unknown, and it is about demand rather than your loop — which could carry about 91 an hour at 30%. It starts on quiet on purpose.
You set this, and you can change it whenever you like.
The rest of the loop stays yours. This sets the ceiling, not the demand.
You would earn, roughly
£42.60 a month
426 credits · £511.20 a year
The same screen, three ways
An estimate, not an offer. You are paid only for plays the screen proves — an advert of about 10s with a signed token and a heartbeat showing the screen was awake and in view. The same advertiser cannot play twice within 40 seconds or more than 40 times an hour on your screen, so busy hours need several advertisers, not one repeated. Several TVs showing one loop count as one play — you price the set.
Questions
What launderettes and dry cleaners ask.
We are unstaffed for much of the day.
That suits it. The player runs on its own, keeps the last loop if the internet drops, and you change anything from your phone without going in.
Is it safe to leave a TV in a launderette?
Any TV or tablet on a secure wall mount works, and there is no box or controls for anyone to fiddle with. On an Android TV box or stick the player starts itself when the power comes back.
Do I have to accept adverts?
No. You choose how much of the loop is open to the network, from none of it upward, and you approve every advert individually.
Another trade?
Ready?
Your launderette screen could be working tonight.
Free account, no card, no hardware. Open the player on the TV and scan the code with your phone.
